Nathalie Duivenvoorden
Nathalie uses the colored pencil like a painter. Layer upon layer from the spot instead of the line, concentrating on the light. She looks for places ‘where something could take place’. For a moment it seems as if a stage has been set up, ready for a performance to begin. A little later the tension may have disappeared again. It is this brief moment that excites her. To be able to imagine herself in that place and in the moment for longer, she works with pencil. The intensive handling of the pencil is a necessary part of her work. She has been working on a place for so long that she can condense it for herself. A concentrated version of the original moment.
